the rice cooker i grew up with in my childhood home had pink flowers on it. sometimes mama would ask me to scoop the steaming rice into everyone’s bowls for dinner. my brother’s bowl wouldn’t be that filled because after dinner he liked to eat a mixing bowl filled to the top with cocoa krispies and milk.
